Mental Health & Wellbeing Assistant - Reading
Immediate Start - Full-Time
Attention Psychology Graduates!

Are you eager to provide essential mental health support to those who need it most?

A welcoming and dynamic specialist school in Reading is seeking a Mental Health & Wellbeing Support Assistant to work with children who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The students face a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, and behavioural issues. As such, the school is looking for someone who can understand these needs and is ready to take on a rewarding challenge!

This full-time position is based in Reading and is available for an immediate start. The school is highly regarded within the community, known for its inclusive and caring educational environment. Staff are supportive and excited to welcome a compassionate and enthusiastic Mental Health & Wellbeing Assistant to their team.

The students range from 11 to 18 years old and experience significant emotional and developmental challenges. To succeed in this role, you will need to be open-minded, resilient, and determined to help students overcome their difficulties. Flexibility and the ability to adapt your approach to meet each child's specific needs are key. Candidates with prior experience supporting children or adults with SEN, whether professionally or personally, are highly encouraged to apply. Graduates with degrees in Psychology or Criminology are also ideal for this role.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work closely with the on-site psychologists and therapists at the SEMH school, allowing you to gain invaluable, hands-on experience with children facing significant mental health challenges. It's a perfect fit for those aspiring to become educational or cognitive psychologists, therapists, counselors, or teachers!
