Fire Services Operations Manager
Salary: £65,000 + company car or car allowance, bonus.
Location: The role can be based in Derby or Leeds. Hybrid working.

Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)

This role presents a great opportunity to lead a growing Fire Services business. We are seeking a candidate with experience in the commercial fire sector that can drive service excellence and lead a growing business unit. You should have experience managing P&L and possess strong commercial acumen.

Key business services include Fire Alarm install and maintenance, risk assessments, training, fire equipment inspection services etc.


Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in the commercial fire sector
  • Experience managing P&L
  • Experience leading a business or business unit (ideally in the fire sector or an associated industry (security systems)
  • A positive people manager with experience leading teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to grow customer accounts
  • Strong understanding of British fire standards


Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • You will lead the fire services business unit.
  • You will have responsibility for the growth, delivery and profitability of the fire division
  • Responsibility for the strategic delivery of the business plan
  • Responsibility for the operational management of field-based teams
  • Drive service delivery and client satisfaction across accounts.
  • Budget / P&L management
  • Management and leadership of teams
  • Process improvement across key areas of the business
  • Regular client meetings across sites to ensure maximum client engagement.
  • Manage the mobilisation of new contracts.
  • Conduct and monitor staff appraisals including HR / disciplinary issues
  • Identify new revenue streams
  • Ensure the maintenance of accreditations – BAFE etc.
  • Manage suppliers and subcontractors
