Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (Day Shifts)
Salary: £20 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half
Job Description We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy workshop in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday (day shifts) for 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and servicing of HGVs to a high standard, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of HGVs.
- Conduct diagnostics and fault finding using advanced tools and equipment.
- Perform MOT preparation and testing.
- Complete brake, clutch, engine, and gearbox repairs.
- Handle electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring all work is completed to the required standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any defects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop.
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician or similar role.
- Class 2 Licence is essential.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in the workplace.
- Competitive hourly rate of £20 per hour.
- Overtime available at time and a half.
- Monday to Friday daytime shifts with no weekend work.
