An inclusive and supportive learning environment for children aged 2-19 with a range of learning difficulties (MALD, SLD, PMLD). The school focuses on fostering academic and personal growth, independence, and life skills, helping students transition into adulthood confidently. With strong ties to the local community, it emphasizes vocational training and social development, working closely with families to tailor each student's experience. The school offers a broad, engaging curriculum, ensuring students thrive in a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere.

You in the role will:

  • Create personalized education plans for students with complex needs, ensuring they feel valued and empowered.
  • Engage students with creative, multi-sensory teaching methods that adapt to their individual learning styles.
  • Help students manage their anxieties and trauma, building trusting relationships that allow them to flourish.
  • Work alongside TAs and other professionals to provide holistic support for each child.
  • Set achievable goals, celebrate every success, and foster a love of learning that goes beyond the classroom.

Your experience and qualifications:

  • You hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS. (desirable, but not essential)
  • You hold a QTS/ECT/PGCE certificate.
  • Proven SEND Expertise: You’ve been there, done that, and have the experience to back it up – particularly with ASD and communication/learning difficulties.
  • You have the ability to stay calm, collected, and focused, no matter how complex the needs or behaviours.
  • You’re not afraid to think outside the box to ensure each child’s needs are met.
  • You value the power of collaboration, working closely with a range of professionals to deliver outstanding support.
