Project Manager – Main Contractor - London

AA Euro Group are a working with a well known Main Contractor who are seeking a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a prestigious £100M+ residential development in the heart of London. The project involves the construction of high-end residential units, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and innovative construction methods. This role offers the opportunity to work on a landmark development with a renowned main contractor, managing all aspects of project delivery from inception to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee the entire lifecycle of the residential project, ensuring the completion of all phases on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
  • Programme Management: Develop and manage the project programme, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Cost Control: Work closely with the commercial team to monitor budgets and control project costs, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Team Coordination: Lead a multidisciplinary project team, including site managers, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring strong collaboration and clear communication across all levels.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, local authorities, consultants, and other external parties, ensuring the project aligns with client expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Health & Safety: Implement and maintain strict health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all site personnel.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring potential issues are addressed early to avoid delays or additional costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, with a focus on delivering a premium-quality residential product.
  • Compliance: Ensure the project complies with relevant building regulations, planning permissions, and company standards.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and the client, reporting on progress, budget, and any potential challenges.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., MCIOB, MAPM, RICS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale residential projects (£50M+) for a main contractor, with experience on £100M+ developments being a strong advantage.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and drive a large, multidisciplinary team towards project success.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and best practices, particularly within the residential sector.
  • Programme Management: Experience with project management software such as Asta Powerproject, MS Project, or Primavera P6.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make decisive decisions under pressure.
  • Commercial Awareness: A thorough understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects.
  • Health & Safety: Strong commitment to health and safety, with relevant qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS) being essential.
  • Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license required.
