Purpose of a Facilities Maintenance Engineer

The successful candidate will report to the HSEF Manager and will be responsible for providing daily maintenance of facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with site safety procedures and requirements
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of site Safety
  • Perform general site maintenance and liaise with contractors to ensure high standards of work and on time delivery
  • Have a good understanding of Health & Safety/risk assessments, method statements & permits to work
  • Provide maintenance support required for production and emergency callouts
  • Have some understanding of engineering systems e.g. heating, ventilation, plumbing etc
  • To carry out General site maintenance
  • Plumbing and joinery repairs
  • Production and office support
  • Implementation of the visual factory / 5s Implementation
  • General duties
  • Environmental response and improvements
  • Site inspections and checks
  • Maintenance of grounds
  • Assist and Mmanage the Facilities Helpdesk tickets relating to maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Conduct company vehicle checks

This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The successful job holder will be expected to perform varying tasks as required by their line manager & the overall objectives of the organisation.

Knowledge, Education, and Skills

  • Mechanical and/or Electrical qualification or significant M&E experience
  • Proactive with strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a diplomatic working style.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks  and meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy is essential especially an excellent understanding of MS Word and Excel.
  • Able to work at height
  • Fork lift license (desirable)
  • Driving license
  • Keyholder duties

Other material requirements

  • Please note that additional hours may be required to ensure production goals are achieved
  • Portable Appliance Testing Certificate desirable but not essential
  • Must have a self-starter / can do attitude
