An experienced Team Manager is required to join Rochdale's Child Protection Service 'The Family Support and Protection Team'. This service holds children and families from child in need to care proceedings.

As a Team Manager within Rochdale you will be:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of social workers, ensuring effective case management and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Oversee complex child protection cases, offering guidance and support to ensure the safety and well-being of children
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback, training, and development opportunities
  • Conduct and review risk assessments to identify potential dangers to children and implement appropriate interventions
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies, such as law enforcement, healthcare providers, and educational institutions, to coordinate services and support for children and families
  • Ensure that all team activities comply with local and national child protection policies and legislation
  • Respond to emergencies and critical incidents, providing leadership and decision-making support
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Organize and deliver training sessions for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Engage with the community to raise awareness about child protection issues and promote preventative measures

What we are looking for in a Social Worker:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
