Sales Office Manager

Location: Blindley Heath, Lingfield, RH7 6JP, with occasional travel expected to visit customers and attend trade shows with advanced notice.

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday

Our client, a well-established manufacturer of balustrades with over 20 years of experience, is seeking a Sales Office Manager. Renowned for their quality and service delivery, they are looking for a motivated professional to lead their sales team and drive business growth.

The Role

The Sales Office Manager will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for overseeing the sales team, driving performance, and ensuring excellent customer service. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the company’s continued success and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the sales team to handle customer inquiries efficiently and respond to all incoming sales leads promptly.
  • Recruit, train, and manage sales consultants while tracking performance against sales targets.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, setting clear goals and objectives to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and CPDs (Continuing Professional Development sessions).
  • Identify market trends and opportunities and collaborate with the marketing department to develop new strategies.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing partners while identifying new partners and sales channels for growth.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing sales teams, ideally in the construction, building merchant, homebuilding, or related industries.
  • Expertise in building and developing high-performing sales teams that handle sales leads effectively.
  • Exceptional sales and customer service skills, with a track record of increasing sales and expanding into new channels.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, along with a professional phone manner.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage workloads efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Competence in extracting product requirements from customer drawings and site plans.
