Job Title: Senior Estimator – Commercial & Residential Projects  
Location: Tower Hamlets Area 

Job Description:
4Site Recruitment have partnered with a Leading Main Contractor who are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the estimation and tendering process for large-scale commercial office developments and residential regeneration projects. The role involves working closely with the pre-construction and project teams to deliver accurate cost estimates that ensure the competitiveness and profitability of bids. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both new build and refurbishment projects, have excellent market knowledge, and demonstrate proficiency in pricing works across multiple trades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of accurate and detailed cost estimates for high-value commercial and residential projects, including new builds, refurbishments, and regeneration projects.
• Manage the preparation and submission of competitive bids in line with the company's commercial strategy, while identifying project risks and opportunities for value engineering.
• Work closely with pre-construction teams, planners, and project managers to assess project scope, specifications, and client requirements.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes, assess tender submissions, and analyze cost data.
• Ensure that cost estimates align with project budgets, and regularly review these as projects progress from design to construction phases.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in the bid stage, recommending strategies for mitigation and cost efficiency improvements.
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project needs are understood and reflected in estimates.
• Provide clear and detailed cost reports and feedback to the project management team and senior leadership.

Key Requirements:

• At least 8-10 years of experience in construction estimating, particularly in large-scale commercial office and residential developments.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing across various trades (e.g., groundworks, facades).
• Strong ability to use industry-specific estimation software such as CostX, Causeway, or similar.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a strong attention to detail in reviewing project designs, specifications, and tender documents.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Relevant degree or qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Salary range: £85,000 - £95,000 basic
