Hunts Recruitment is looking for Support Workers for a residential home in the Tonbridge/Hildenborough area, this home supports 5 individuals with learning disabilities, autism, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Salary: £23,264 - £27,944 per annum

Job type: Full time hours across Monday to Sunday 

Shifts: Monday - Sunday including earlies, mids, lates, sleep ins and/or waking nights

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is a must for this position.

No two days are the same but your day might look like this:

• Supporting individuals to be engaged in all day to day living activities, including making full use of their community and beyond. 

• Supporting individuals with social activities, and connecting with family and friends.  

• Keeping the home clean and fresh, and going shopping.  

• Providing, and encouraging, personal care.  

Key Skills Required:

Whilst previous experience is desirable, it is not essential as training is provided, however you must have:

• A compassionate, empathic and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the people we support, their families and colleagues

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and digital systems used in social care settings

• Willingness to provide personal care whilst supporting individuals to maintain privacy and dignity

• Willingness to learn non-verbal communications methods e.g. Makaton

• To be able to support the people we support to prepare ingredients and cook a range of healthy meals to maintain their dietary health

• Willingness to undertake specialised training e.g. positive behaviour support to effectively support the residents and their changing needs

• A full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
