About the Role:
As an Electrical / Fire & Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial environments. This position offers a unique opportunity for electricians eager to expand their expertise into fire and security systems with training and hands-on experience provided by the company. You will work on a variety of projects, ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical installations across a range of commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure all installations comply with electrical regulations (BS7671) and safety standards.
  • Perform testing and certification of electrical installations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintain detailed job documentation and reports.
  • Supervise apprentices and junior team members where needed.
  • Recommend system upgrades for energy efficiency and performance improvements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (2365) in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Certification with a strong knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection (preferred but not essential).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work from electrical drawings and blueprints.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential):

  • Knowledge of fire systems (Kentec, Advanced, Morley).
  • Experience with security systems (Texecom, Galaxy Grade 2 & 3).
  • Understanding of access control systems (Paxton, HID).
  • Knowledge of CCTV (analogue and IP).
  • Experience with fire safety and maintenance procedures.
