Responsibility:

  • Execution and delivery of instructed additional works such as design changes, temporary works reviews or similar.
  • Assist the sub-team leads to manage resources and programme for structural team delivering the designers construction stage services/site support.
  • Attend meetings with contractor/client and sub-contractors.
  • Respond and review responses to contractor RFI's and technical submittals.
  • Assist the team lead to provide fee and programme proposals for instructed changes/variations.
  • Review and respond to proposed value engineering studies from sub-contractors.
  • Assist in NEC contract administration activities - EWNs, GCs, Risk Reduction Meetings, Defect Notices
  • Contribute to team's project related HS&W

Experience:

  • Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer.
  • Familiar with design of low-rise buildings and basements (rail experience preferable), with complex design integration of disciplines, where the challenge is typically co-ordination and response to team-wide demands.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage a sub-team
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Used to working and co-ordinating with contractors and their sub-contractors.
  • Good knowledge & experience using Eurocodes.
  • Experienced in concrete design. (proficiency in RAM Concep strongly preferred)
  • Experienced in steelwork design.
  • Able to liaise directly with other design discipline members.
  • A high level of numeracy with strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking (essential).
