Job Title: Building Surveyor.
Location: Chester.
Salary: up to £55K.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director / Division Manager the key elements of the role include:
- Undertaking site surveys of damaged buildings (Domestic, Commercial and Industrial). Recording all damage and defects and compilation of floor plans.
- Carrying out inspections on social housing properties paying particular attention to causation behind damp, mould and condensation issues.
- Compiling detailed schedule of works, including appropriate breakdowns and photographs.
- Undertaking the role of Contract Administrator.
- Liaising with clients, agents, consultants, loss adjusters throughout the pre & construction phase of the project, effectively project managing the rebuild / repairs process.
- Complying and adhering to all set service levels and key performance indicators.
- Assisting in the identification, submission and settlement of insurance claims under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
- Evidencing and recording in support of any variations or unforeseen works items, including photographic if necessary.
- Dealing with planning applications and advising on property legislation and current building regulations.
- Valuing contractor’s work and variations on an interim basis and the issuing of the required Certification for Payments.
- Compilation of Final Accounts – balancing all project costs.
- Commercial administration skills leading to the successful and timely delivery of the particular scheme(s).
