IT Support Technician

Job Location:              Christchurch, Dorset

Job Type:                    Permanent

Salary:                         Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours:                         38.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8.15am – 5.00pm

Are you passionate about technology and love helping others? We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to provide top-notch technical support for both hardware and software across our business. You’ll be an integral part of our small, dynamic IT team, supporting over 120 employees.

Your role:

  • 1st/2nd Line Support: Assist internal users with hardware and software issues.
  • User Queries: Respond to end-user queries and escalate when necessary.
  • Software Management: Perform software installations and updates.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Handle network troubleshooting and installation.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Conduct hardware builds, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Asset Management: Manage and audit IT equipment.
  • System Support: Maintain and support software system integrations.
  • Documentation: Document system implementations and integrations, including usernames, passwords, and training materials.

What we’re looking for:

  • Microsoft Expertise: Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Office 365, Teams, SharePoint Administration).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Organisational Skills: Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and tidiness.
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently, especially on project-based tasks.
  • Training Ability: Capable of training others on system processes and procedures.
  • Customer Experience: Experience in a customer-facing environment.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Active Directory & Group Policies: Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policies, and related tools.
  • Windows Proficiency: Experience with Windows 10/11 Professional and Windows Domains.
  • Networking Knowledge: Understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, including VLANs and routing.
  • Security Awareness: Experience with network and infrastructure security.
  • IT Support Ticketing: Familiarity with IT support ticketing systems.
  • IT Support Background: At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
