Maintenance Fitter 

Salary: £18.00 - £19.00 per hour
Location: Hebburn
Hours: Full-time, Permanent – 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday), plus overtime available

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading production facility in Hebburn for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the smooth running of mechanical systems through both preventative and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine, preventative, and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of the plant.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimizing production downtime.
• Conduct inspections and maintenance according to the site’s preventative maintenance system (FSI).
• Maintain a high standard of work while adhering to health and safety policies, including the use of permits to work.
• Assist in preparing and implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any concerns, accidents, or near misses.
• Attend training to maintain qualifications and stay up to date with industry standards.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in mechanical maintenance within a production or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• A proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
