Our client is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to assist with the establishment and management of logistical operational resources (people, and physical assets) in order to implement the plan for the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality and efficiency. 

Due to the site being a high Security Military Navy base, additional security checks will need to be made - BPSS/SC level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU & NATO member passports can be considered for this role.  

As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the following: 

The Management and oversight of all areas of the project which have been assigned to you and delivering successful project outcomes. 

Communicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercial staff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff operatives, suppliers, third parties and client representatives.  

Establishing written processes and management plans for logistical operations and material management 

Maintaining high personal standards in health and safety and supporting others in the same. 

Maintaining high standards in environmental awareness and behaviour. 

Driving quality delivery through effective planning and right first time delivery. 

Leading, supervising and mentoring your reportees and other team members. 

Monitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods, identifying shortfalls and devising mitigation to minimise programme impacts. 

Maintaining good working relations with client, delivery teams, support teams, supply chain and others. 

Assist with the monthly and quarterly commercial forecast and reporting for your areas of project. 

Identifying and reporting any commercial or contractual liabilities which may be identified within your area of responsibility. 

Ensuring sufficient resources (labour, plant, materials and subcontractors) are procured and available in sufficient time to deliver the activities within your area of responsibility. 

Making sure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works before commencement. 

Formally requesting any missing information in sufficient time to meet the programme. 

Managing the engineering team to ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences. 

Ensuring instructions received from the client / designer / clients representative are formally recorded and communicated onwards. 

Ensuring that comprehensive records of resources employed on all works are maintained. 

Reviewing and ensuring that Inspection and Test Plans and checklist are in place and being followed. 

Reviewing the daily diary records under your supervision to ensure a high standard of record keeping is being maintained. 

Preparing and monitoring "look ahead" programmes in conjunction with the supervisory staff, coordinated with overall site programme. 

Reviewing, authorising and ensuring written risk assessments and activity plans/method statements are in place prior to works commencing for all activities within your area of responsibility. 

Ensuring staff members under your supervision are aware of their responsibilities set out in their own Role Profiles, managing their performance and overseeing their conduct to ensure high standards of professionalism. 

Reviewing Non-Conformances and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken and lessons learned to prevent re-occurrence. 

Devising site processes for maintaining records in line with client and KBjv requirements and ensuring these are followed by other members of the team. 

Undertaking performance and development reviews as required by the Company and following up on the development activities identified. 

Leading by example and encouraging others to complete observation cards in pursuit of continual improvement. 

Who are we looking for? 

  • Degree, HND,HNC, NVQ in Construction/Engineering/Logistics or equivalent. 

  • Proven track record in delivering construction/civils/logistics operations. 

  • CSCS Level  - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager. 

  • SMSTS/ SSSTS. 

  • Management skills (control and management of employees). 

  • Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills. 

  • Excellent communication skills and customer focused.  

  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills. 

  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Proactive approach to work. 

  • Working as part of a team to deliver objective of the department and project as a whole. 

  • Enthusiastic, Collaborative approach. 

  • Experience of consents, logistics, Vehicle Management Systems and traffic management.  

  • Experienced in lifting operations.
