Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join our Supply staff bank, working in a range of dynamic Primary and Secondary Schools.

In this fulfilling role, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to create a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere where every child can reach their full potential. Your day-to-day activities will involve supporting individualized learning plans, aiding students in their classroom tasks, and encouraging their personal growth.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in cultivating a safe and engaging learning environment where students feel valued and understood. Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering personalised learning experiences for students with special needs.
  • Assist students in their daily activities, ensuring they are safe and engaged in class.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and observe student progress according to goals set.
  • Encourage positive behavior and facilitate social interactions among peers.
  • Help students with personal care tasks, including mobility and communication aid, as required.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for academic tasks, enhancing understanding and participation.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and specialists about student progress and needs.
Requirements
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to inclusivity.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or in a similar role.
  • Understanding of special educational needs and related teaching strategies.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, fostering trust and a sense of security.
  • Patience, empathy, and flexibility are essential traits for this role.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with educators and parents.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development would be an advantage.
