As a Trainee Ink Technician at Tancia Group, you will work under the supervision of an experienced Ink Technician, assisting in the preparation and management of ink supplies for our production processes. You will learn how to prepare inks to precise Pantone Match System specifications, monitor inventory, and ensure the smooth operation of ink-related tasks. This role is an excellent entry-level opportunity for those looking to develop technical skills in ink mixing and quality control within the printing industry. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Ink Preparation & Matching  
Assist the Ink Technician in preparing inks for printing jobs according to the Pantone Matching System (PMS), ensuring colour accuracy and consistency. 

Daily Ink Reports 
Assist in running daily reports to update the Ink Technician and production team on ink requirements for the next day, ensuring all materials are prepared in advance. 

Quality Control  
Help inspect returned inks for contamination or impurities and support the proper storage of acceptable inks. 

Work closely with the Ink Technician to report any quality issues or concerns to management and the Quality Control (QC) team. 

Stock Management 
Assist in ordering inks, solvents, and other necessary supplies to maintain sufficient stock levels. 

Refill solvent containers in designated areas as instructed by the Ink Technician. 

Workstation Maintenance 
Support the Ink Technician in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient mixing room, following company standards. 

Health and Safety Compliance 
Follow all health and safety guidelines, particularly when handling inks and solvents, to support a safe working environment. 

Fault Reporting 
Promptly report any equipment faults or issues to the Ink Technician and management to minimise disruptions in production. 

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Good communication, motivational and time management skills 
  • Operating machinery  
  • Good level of English speaking and writing 
  • Expected to take part in departmental training 
  • Expected to train on various printing machines 
  • Have good eyesight with no issues recognising colour 
  • Live within an easily commutable distance of Aldershot
