If so, we invite you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant!

About the Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to thrive in an educational setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the delivery of tailored learning experiences, while fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH and related diagnoses in their academic and social development.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and positively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to develop and adapt learning resources.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, encouraging engagement and participation.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and related diagnoses (ASD, ADHD, ODD).
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • A nurturing, compassionate approach and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
