In this pivotal role, you'll lead the transition from multiple European sites to a new continental hub in the Netherlands, shaping world-class processes from day one.
Your Mission
Imagine designing the blueprint for our client's future warehouse operations across Europe. From conceptualising efficient layouts and flows to implementing state-of-the-art systems, you'll spearhead this game-changing initiative. With a small team at first, you'll scale the operation to meet surging demand, ultimately overseeing a workforce of up to 15 logistics superstars.
As the Warehouse and Operations Manager, you'll develop a seamless process across the entire supply chain. You'll optimise every step, from inventory management, picking, kitting and order fulfilment to despatch. With a razor-sharp focus on customer service, you'll ensure orders are swiftly shipped for next-day delivery across the continent.
This isn't just any warehouse role - it's an entrepreneurial venture within a thriving matrix organisation headquartered in the UK. You'll forge strategic partnerships with couriers, troubleshoot issues, and use data to drive continuous improvement.
The Role in Summary
- Lead the transition from multiple European warehouses to our new Rotterdam hub
- Design efficient warehouse layouts, processes and implement best practices
- Oversee daily logistics - inventory, order picking/packing, and Europe-wide dispatch
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and plan for future growth
- Manage courier relationships and serve as the hub for cross-country coordination
- Build and mentor a team starting from 4 up to 10-15 as operations scale
Is This You?
You're a master of orchestrating complex warehouse operations with:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, logistics, supply chain or engineering.
- Proven experience of a progressive fast moving or efulfilment warehouse/distribution management
- Expertise across all efulfilment warehouse functions - receiving, picking, packing, shipping/despatch via couriers for next day delivery.
- Skilled in optimising layouts, leveraging WMS/ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics BC365 or similar.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements using data and KPIs
- Project management experience leading transitions, facility setups or implementations
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and developing warehouse teams including consolidation of several warehouses into one centralised new start up warehousing and distribution operation.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating cross-culturally
- Experience managing courier relationships and meeting tight delivery timelines
- Entrepreneurial, can do" mindset eager to build a new operation from the ground up
- Flexibility to travel during the setup phase to other European sites
- Fluent in both Dutch and English communication skills for a multinational role
