General Manager / Operations Manager

This is a role working very closely with the Managing Director to oversee the senior leadership team, increase productivity and manage day to day business demands.

The Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the business, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
  • Ensure that the warehouse and supply chain run efficiently, maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

2. Sales and Business Development:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the customer base and maximize revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to drive targeted campaigns and promotions.

3. Financial Management:

  • Manage the company’s budget, financial planning, and profitability.
  • Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and operational costs, ensuring the business meets its financial targets.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for upper management, making recommendations for improvement.

4. Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team across multiple departments, including sales, operations, and customer service.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments to meet operational and financial objectives.

5. Customer Relations and Service:

  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained, addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Manage customer feedback, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to improve service delivery and response times.

6. Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure the company complies with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Manage risk through effective product management, ensuring that all supplies meet quality standards.
  • Implement sustainable practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in Business/Operations procedures

• Demonstrable skills in a distribution or warehouse environment

• Strong Financial acumen and budget control

• Team Leader / Management skills

• Ability to analyse data and market trends

• Strong problem-solving skills

The Package:

Excellent salary depending on experience 55- 65k

Excellent holidays 33 days including stats

Pension contribution 5%
