Job Summary
The Sustainability Champion will be responsible for driving and embedding sustainable practices across construction projects, from design to completion. This role involves working closely with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to foster environmental awareness, energy efficiency, and sustainable solutions within each project.
Key Responsibilities

Sustainability Strategy Implementation:
- Implement company sustainability goals across projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead sustainability workshops to educate teams on best practices.
- Assist in developing and refining the company’s sustainability strategy to create measurable impact.

Project and Site Engagement:
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices into project delivery.
- Identify and address sustainability risks and opportunities during project planning.
- Promote on-site energy efficiency, waste reduction, and recycling programs, working closely with subcontractors and suppliers.

Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Track sustainability performance metrics, such as energy use, waste, and emissions, producing regular reports for management.
- Conduct site assessments to monitor adherence to sustainability standards, recommending improvements as needed.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Research and recommend innovative materials, technologies, and processes that support sustainable construction and reduce environmental impact.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, sharing best practices for sustainability.
- Stay informed of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices, sharing insights with teams.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in sustainability within construction or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability standards (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in training and stakeholder engagement.
- Passionate about sustainability with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
