Qualified Social Worker - Durham - Child Protection Team

Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Qualified Social Workers to join a busy team at a Durham based within the Child Protection team at the daily rate of 239.43 (Umbrella) and £181.02 (PAYE). To be successful in this role you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience.
Primary Responsibilities as a Child Protection Social Worker:
- Case Management:
- Conduct assessments and investigations related to child protection cases
- Develop and implement care plans for children and families
- Collaborate with other professionals, including parents, social workers, and legal representatives
- Attend court hearings and provide evidence when necessary
- Safeguarding:
- Maintain a child-centered approach, ensuring the welfare and safety of every child.
- Apply knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulations.
- Identify risks and take appropriate actions to protect children from harm
- Assessment and Reporting:
- Assess family dynamics, risk factors, and protective factors.
- Write clear and concise reports, including assessments, case notes, and court reports.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to child protection plans.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues, including other social workers, health professionals, and educators.
- Liaise with external agencies, such as police, schools, and health services.
- Provide support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.
- Professional Development:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Attend training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.
- Uphold professional standards and adhere to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
- Qualified in a recognized social work degree (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration in SWE
- Experience in social work with children and families
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding issues
