We are currently looking for a Facilities Coordinator to join our friendly team at our Tarmac Solihull office in the West Midlands working on a fixed term contract for up to 18 months. This role is easily accessible from Birmingham, Solihull, Selly Oak, Kings Norton, Rubery, Redditch, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Tamworth, Lichfield, Walsall and across the West Midlands and East Midlands.
The Facilities Coordinator is a highly visible role, responsible for the health and wellbeing of all employees, visitors and contractors on site.

Main ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Regional Facilities Manager, the role of Facilities Coordinator will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and be involved in the implementation of appropriate procedures and working practices, ensuring the workplace is safe, secure, compliant and fully equipped.
As Facilities Coordinator you will also be responsible for:
- Ensuring the building meets all health & safety standards and complies with all legal requirements
- Daily health and safety checks within the office, first aid audits, stationery audits, managing incoming and outgoing post
- Raising requisitions, placing orders and managing various mailboxes
- Overseeing service provider contracts including cleaning, maintenance (including Planned Preventative Maintenance) and building management/concierge to ensure standards are being maintained and ongoing performance
- Working closely with the purchasing team to optimise contracted spend with approved suppliers
- Ensuring Environmental Management systems and procedures are understood and enacted
- Ensuring the building is operated and maintained effectively, planning for future changes in line with strategic business objectives
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues
- Ensuring there is effective employee communication for all staff employed on site
- Supporting with other facilities contracts as they are identified
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the role of Facilities Coordinator the ideal candidate will possess previous experience as a Facilities Coordinator combined with experience of organising, planning and administration tasks.
Suitable candidates for the role of Facilities Coordinator will also possess:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience of engaging and effectively communicating with a wide range of contacts both internally and externally
- Ability to respond to individual and business needs in a timely manner
- Ability to adapt and prioritise in a fast-paced environment while keeping a high attention to detail and completing work to the highest standard
- Superb organisation skills
- Proven skills working collaboratively as part of a team and cooperatively with colleagues
- Capability to build credible working relationships quickly at a Senior level
- Strong IT skills including the highest levels of competence with Microsoft packages (SAP advantageous)
- Confidence to be one step ahead as no two days are the same
- First aid training or willing to be trained
