Job title: Child Behaviour Support Worker

Setting: Alternative Provision School

Pay rate: £90.00 - £120.00 per day (depending on experience)

Start date: Immediate

Duration: long term with the view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are working with an Outstanding Alternative Provision school in Romford, who are looking for an experienced Child Behaviour Support Worker to join them as soon as possible on a temp to perm basis. The role is to provide 1:1 and group support to young people with special educational, social and emotional difficulties. The Child Behaviour Support Worker will develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with learner receiving support, aimed at achieving the goals defined in their individual action plan.

Duties of the Child Behaviour Support Worker

  • Work closely with other professionals like educational psychologists or physiotherapists
  • Teach and mentor students, both collectively and individually
  • Communicate with students to determine their needs and ensure they are equally met
  • Implement diverse strategies to cater to individual learning styles and needs.
  • Model positive and socially acceptable behaviour daily, teaching children skills to engage appropriately with their peers.
  • Promote children's social, physical and intellectual development
  • Improve pupil progress and achievement by helping to minimise barriers to learning and maximise pupil participation
  • Devise, implement and evaluate specialized programmes of work to encourage and promote a pupil’s social emotional and behavioural development.
