This primary school is a vibrant and forward-thinking school at the heart of our community, dedicated to providing every child with an exceptional learning experience. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our committed team on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE). We are happy to be flexible on the days you would prefer to work.

About the Role:

As the SENCo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all pupils with special educational needs are supported effectively and can thrive in our inclusive school environment. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement personalized learning strategies, ensuring that every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the school’s SEN provision.
  • Assess and identify the needs of pupils with special educational requirements and work collaboratively with staff to provide tailored support.
  • Liaise with parents, additional support staff, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to each child's education.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices in meeting the needs of children with SEN.
  • Ensure effective tracking and monitoring of pupil progress, reporting and acting on data as appropriate.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with a proven track record, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the complexities of Special Educational Needs, including current legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A commitment to inclusivity and promoting a positive learning environment for all pupils.
