We are now looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of Department to join our team.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational management and strategic planning of a wide range of student services. These include learner support funding, careers services, health and wellbeing, student voice, library and literacy services, as well as the provision of exceptional enrichment, enterprise, and personal development opportunities.

As the Head of department, you will play a key role in delivering and enhancing these services, ensuring they are aligned with the College’s vision and responsive to the evolving needs of our diverse student population. Your leadership will help foster a culture of support and excellence, empowering both students and staff to reach their full potential.

About you

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished manager with a proven track record of enhancing services and improving outcomes for learners. Experience in budget management and a strong understanding of public sector funding are essential, as is the ability to coordinate a diverse range of services and staff effectively.

Required

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification at level 4 or above
  • Managing a range of staff teams within a Student Services environment
  • Managing complex financial records and procedures

Preferred

  • Managing internal and external audit requirements
  • Evidence of successfully facilitating change
