Tradewind is currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a Secondary school in St. Helens
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is comfortable supporting students who can display challenging behaviour.
A mainstream St. Helens secondary school requires a SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP on a short-term basis initially with potential for extension.
The successful candidate will be supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), therefore, it is vital that you have prior experience supporting a student with these needs on a one-to-one basis.
Due to the behaviour, the school is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is calm, patient, resilient and positive.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH or SEN (essential)
- Strong knowledge surrounding behavioural challenges (essential)
- Experience supporting students one-to-one (desirable)
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent (desirable)
The Essentials:
- Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure (cost of DBS is refunded after working 20 days)
- A full, 10-year career history and be able to provide a minimum of 2 references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- A minimum of 2 professional references including one from your most recent employer
