The role:
The Contracts Manager, primary responsibility is to ensure the successful execution of projects by overseeing key contractual elements, managing budgets and timelines, and achieving project objectives. The Contracts Manager is the main point of contact for clients, handling program progress, commercial issues, and change management. The role involves maintaining a clear understanding of contract requirements, overseeing project staffing and budget, and developing comprehensive plans for project stages.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage key contractual elements of the project against budget and programme
- Create and achieve clear and attainable project objectives
- Support the development of project requirements while managing cost, time, quality and scope
- Client interaction regarding progress and commercial matters, and managing change.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the contract requirements and ensuring they are delivered
- Maintain responsibility for project staffing and management of project prelims budget
- Chair internal and external project meetings
- Develop and maintain health, safety, environment and quality procedures to project completion to ensure full compliance with all company processes and legislative requirements.
- Oversee site managers and subcontractors' works on-site
- Gather reports on performance from works on-site and ensure works are completed to plan
- Produce a weekly project progress report on overall project performance
- Work collaboratively with Boutique Modern’s supply chain of approved subcontractors and suppliers to ensure third-party buy-in and to achieve project objectives
- Identify, on board and working collaboratively with sub-contractors required to deliver packages of work
- Monitor sub-contractors’ performance during delivery of packages to work
- Manage projects through the business-gated lifecycle, completing reviews when required at appropriate times during the project
- Work with all departments to coordinate projects to plan – ensuring diligent project admin, documentation and filing from all departments from setup to completion
- Resolve issues or delays that arise on-site by collaborating with the project team and sub-contractors
- Maintain clear lines of communication between your role and surrounding departments
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality over design, information transfer and construction processes towards anyone outside the company
Key skills and experience required:
- A Suitable construction management qualification such as HNC/HND/BSc (Essential)
- SMSTS Certification (Essential)
- CSCS Black Card or similar (Essential)
- Full Clean UK Drivers License (Essential)
- Proven technical knowledge of construction and understanding of construction procedures (Essential)
- Proven experience managing JCT D&B Contracts (Essential)
- Understanding of Brownfield sites and their complexities (Essential)
- 3+ Years Experience in a Contracts or Project Management position (Essential)
- Experience working on project values up to £15M (Essential)
- Experience using Asta Powerproject (Desirable)
