LTF Recruitment is searching for a calm and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 classroom in Westminster, W9. This role involves working closely with two pupils who experience emotional fluctuations, requiring consistent, positive reinforcement and a steady presence to help them navigate their daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to Year 5 pupils, focusing on two students who need extra emotional guidance.
- Use a calm and confident approach to encourage positive behaviours, reinforcing emotional regulation.
- Assist with academic tasks, helping students to stay engaged and focused on their work.
- Implement and adapt individualised strategies to support emotional and social needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust approaches as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- A calm, positive demeanour with a strong presence, able to set clear boundaries.
- Confidence in academic support, especially in core subjects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with students and staff.
