About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support to students in a dynamic and nurturing learning environment. As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting with the delivery of the curriculum, supporting the learning and development of students, and promoting a positive and inclusive educational experience. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure each student’s individual needs are met and contribute to maintaining a productive and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting Learning:

• Assist the class teacher in the delivery of lessons, ensuring students are engaged, supported, and challenged according to their needs.
• Provide 1:1 or small group support for students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning requirements.
• Help differentiate tasks and provide tailored support for students with varying abilities.
• Encourage independent learning and self-confidence in students.

Classroom Management:

• Support the teacher with managing classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
• Help maintain a well-organized and resource-rich classroom to enhance the learning experience.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to assessments as needed.

Student Welfare & Wellbeing:

• Foster positive relationships with students to support their emotional and social development.
• Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and mutual support within the classroom.
• Be alert to signs of bullying or safeguarding concerns and report appropriately.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work collaboratively with other staff members, including teachers, support staff, and specialists, to ensure cohesive educational support.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers, as required, to support students’ progress.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and displays.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above).
• Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable (or willingness to complete).
• Early Years experience is desired  

Experience:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a school setting, is required.
• Experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
