The Business Development Executive (BDE) plays a pivotal role in SparkLayer's growth, focused on creating and nurturing relationships with potential clients and partners. The BDE will drive new business opportunities by identifying and converting leads, delivering compelling demos, and establishing a thorough understanding of client needs and objectives. This role requires strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales or business development within the eCommerce or B2B sector.

Requirements

Business Development and Lead Generation

  • Proactively identify and generate new business opportunities with in profile clients through various methods, including email campaigns, industry events, and networking.
  • Research and map prospective clients to understand their needs and how SparkLayer can offer value.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Manage our live chat and other inbound enquiries.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to follow up on lead generating campaigns.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Qualify new leads, and assess their potential fit to use our software.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain relationships with potential clients through regular communication, understanding their needs, and aligning SparkLayer's offerings to their goals.
  • Work closely with potential clients, keeping them engaged throughout the sales cycle and ensuring a smooth transition to the sales and customer success team.
  • Collect feedback and insights from prospects to inform product development and marketing strategy.

Business Development Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop strategic business development plans.
  • Leverage CRM systems to track sales activities and report on key metrics to the Sales Director

Sales Demos and Pitches:

  • Collaborate with the wider team to create effective sales materials and presentations tailored to different audiences.
  • Occassionally, deliver compelling sales demos to clients on our starter plans that clearly demonstrate the value and unique advantages of SparkLayer's platform.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Share insights and feedback from clients with the internal teams to help shape product development and improve the overall customer experience.

In Industry Profile.

  • Engage on key social media platforms to help raise awareness and the credibility of SparkLayer, in such a way that SparkLayer continues to be a serious contender for customers looking to grow their B2B operation.
  • By maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, identify market trends, partnerships, and opportunities that will help drive revenue growth and expand our target customer base.
  • Coordinate and attend marketing events and outreach, track campaign performance, and evaluate sales success.

  • You are genuinely curious to learn and pick up new concepts quickly
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, is essential
  • Proven experience of working towards, and meeting targets
  • You are not afraid to have give new things a try, and can use feedback to improve future outcomes
