We are currently looking to recruit a Community Engagement Officer to join a leading Civil Engineering Contractor based within Birmingham.  The role will be the vital link between the project team and the local communities affected by the Sprint project which is a bus priority corridor linking Walsall and Solihull via Birmingham city centre to form one continuous route.

This role will be a fixed contract for 18 months to last the duration of the project

Duties

• Research the local area and develop stakeholder mapping for those affected by the works.
• Liaise with the client to understand their preferred approach to scheme communications.
• Work closely with site managers to ensure effective communications with relevant parties.
• Develop relationships with relevant businesses and other stakeholders during the works.
• Visiting properties and identifying any specific requirements that need to be accommodated.
• Act as key point of contact for the public, local businesses and stakeholders.
• Setup communication lines with local council customer service desk to ensure passage of complaints is prompt.
• Responding to complaints

• Organisational skills including effective record keeping and ability to meet deadlines

• Competent IT skills and computer literacy using - MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Excel, PowerPoint
